Speed & Agility

We provide highly energized effective training platforms to get the most out of our athletes. Our focus is not only on enhancing the athlete’s physical ability but building their confidence and mental toughness. We train athletes from 6 years old to those playing professionally. You do not have to be a super star to train at Fury, just possess the heart and desire to improve every day you step in our facility, on the field or on the court.


SPEED

Conditioning & Endurance Training: During this session we incorporate an obstacle course that will challenge our athletes to negotiate obstacles utilizing proper techniques as fatigue sets in.


AGILITY

Agility & Balance Training: We understand that most athletes have a dominant and non-dominant side of their body, we incorporate training methods to increase an athlete’s balance and stability.


STRENGTH

Strength & Explosion Training: During this training session our focus is geared to improving fast twitch muscle fibers to enhance our athlete’s ability to generate explosive strength and power that are vital in all sports. for our younger athletes is done by utilizing body weight exercises that will assist in building full body strength and functionality. For our older groups we teach the proper techniques of weight training by utilizing our fitness machines as well as our free weights.


CONDITIONING

Conditioning & Endurance Training: During this session we incorporate an obstacle course that will challenge our athletes to negotiate obstacles utilizing proper techniques as fatigue sets in.


Fury’s Speed & Agility Training Program:

Speed and agility training offers a multitude of benefits that can enhance athletic performance across various sports. Fury Performance’s Speed & Agility group training program is tailored to suit athletes of all levels. Benefits for your athlete consist of:

Improved speed: Speed training focuses on developing the ability to move quickly over short distances. By incorporating sprinting drills, interval training, and resistance exercises, athletes can increase their stride length, frequency, and overall running speed. Improved speed enables athletes to outrun opponents, chase down balls, and reach top speeds more efficiently during competitions.

Enhanced agility: Agility training targets the ability to change direction quickly and efficiently while maintaining control and balance. Through agility ladder drills, cone drills, and plyometric exercises, athletes can improve their footwork, reaction time, and coordination. Enhanced agility allows athletes to navigate through obstacles, evade defenders, and perform sharp cuts and turns with precision and speed.

Increased Explosiveness: Speed and agility training often incorporate explosive movements such as jumps, leaps, and bounds. These exercises help athletes develop fast-twitch muscle fibers, which are essential for explosive movements and bursts of acceleration. Increased explosiveness enables athletes to generate more power in their movements, resulting in quicker starts, sharper changes in direction, and faster reactions on the field or court.

Enhanced Coordination and Body Control: Speed and agility training require athletes to perform complex movements with precision and coordination. By practicing agility drills and coordination exercises, athletes can improve their body awareness, spatial orientation, and proprioception. Enhanced coordination and body control allow athletes to move more fluidly, react more quickly to stimuli, and maintain balance and stability in dynamic situations.

Reduced Risk of Injury: Speed and agility training help improve biomechanical efficiency, joint stability, and muscular strength, reducing the risk of common sports-related injuries such as sprains, strains, and tears. By strengthening muscles, tendons, and ligaments and improving movement mechanics, athletes can better withstand the physical demands of their sport and minimize the likelihood of injuries during training and competition.

Enhanced Overall Athleticism: Speed and agility training target multiple components of fitness, including speed, power, agility, coordination, and cardiovascular endurance. By incorporating a variety of exercises and drills into their training regimen, athletes can develop a well-rounded skill set and improve their overall athleticism, making them more versatile and effective competitors in their sport.

Ages 6-9

Youth Speed & Agility Program Details:

During this crucial developmental phase in a child’s life, young athletes are at a stage where they eagerly absorb new skills and movement patterns. Their bodies are particularly receptive to learning and refining motor skills. Our Youth program is meticulously crafted to capitalize on this opportunity, offering 60-minute sessions designed to foster a love for athleticism in a dynamic, encouraging, and highly successful environment. In our Youth curriculum, we place a strong emphasis on cultivating fundamental athletic abilities such as running technique, coordination, balance, relative strength, and essential muscle movement patterns. These foundational elements are integral for nurturing a child’s athletic prowess, enhancing performance, preventing injuries, and ensuring their sustained enjoyment and engagement in sports activities over the long term. We believe that by instilling these fundamental skills early on, we lay a solid groundwork for future success and fulfillment in sports participation.
Ages 10-13

Competitive Speed & Agility Program Details:

In the second stage of our developmental journey, athletes come to recognize the significance of honing neuromuscular patterns. Building upon the foundational principles established in the earlier stages, our Developmental I program is dedicated to channeling athletic fundamentals towards the application of specialized skills. Here, the focus lies on advancing and solidifying athletic movement while meticulously refining essential skills such as speed, agility, and power. Through consistent and purposeful rehearsal, athletes not only enhance their proficiency but also engrain these fundamental skills into their muscle memory, paving the way for lasting and positive athletic transformations. Central to the Developmental I program is the integration of formal Strength and Power training within the 60-minute sessions. This multifaceted approach yields benefits on multiple fronts. Firstly, by emphasizing proper movement techniques coupled with increased force production, athletes can unlock their full potential, optimizing their performance capabilities. Secondly, given the natural progression of athletes in terms of height, weight, strength, and aggression, prioritizing improved joint integrity becomes imperative for minimizing the risk of injury. Thus, by instilling a holistic approach that addresses both physical and technical aspects, our program endeavors to foster well-rounded athletes equipped for sustained success and longevity in their athletic pursuits.
Ages 14+

Competitive Speed & Agility Program Details:

In this age bracket, most athletes have already established neuromuscular patterns and acquired fundamental skills such as speed, agility, and power. However, our Developmental II program aims to refine these skills further, providing athletes with the final components needed to shape them into well-rounded individuals. Here, meticulous attention is paid to fine-tuning technique, ensuring that each athlete’s strengths are maximized while addressing areas that require improvement. The overarching goal is to optimize each athlete’s performance based on their specific needs and areas of growth.
